Notes |
October 2019
2014 Zaha ‘El Corte’ Toko Vineyard is a blend of 78% Malbec and 22% Cabernet Sauvignon, that were co-fermented and then aged in new and used oak for 12 months. The idea here was the nature of the two grapes complementing each other perfectly, with the sweetness and suppleness of the Malbec balancing out the earth toned notes of the Cabernet, making the wine more elegant. The nose is a little reticent on opening but soon brings forth notes of plums and black cherries intermixed with a whiff of herbs and a light floral/violet lift. The palate is medium to fuller bodied, with flavors of raspberries, cherries and spices backed by well integrated tannins bringing this to a long, balanced finish. Drinking perfectly now this should continue to show well over the next two years. |
