Good color, although not the brilliance some achieved with this blend in '10, medium-bodied, with a complex blend of savory/spicy notes woven through the blackberry/black cherry fruit, the tannins well balanced.

Fresh, vibrant and open-textured, with currant and blackberry notes at the forefront, showing hints of tobacco and coffee as the finish lingers. Best from 2015 through 2020.

Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2010 The Guardian Eden Valley Shiraz Viognier flaunts a nose of ripe red cherries, red currants and kirsch with hints of sage, black pepper and menthol. Medium-bodied with a beautiful, silky texture in the mouth, plenty of spicy, red berry preserves flavors hold on through a long finish.

Simply a beautiful wine, the 2010 Yalumba The Guardian Shiraz Viognier exhibits tart cherries and some rose petal elements; medium bodied and juicy. While a bit of a stretch in comparison to its counterparts in the Northern Rhone Valley, this is a wine that will appeal to everyone. Delightful and serious at the same time. A nice choice with a lightly savory beef stew.

(a 98/2 blend): Dark purple. Ripe plum and blackberry on the deeply perfumed nose. Big and broad in the mouth, offering plush black and blue fruit flavors with complicating hints of dark chocolate and succulent herbs. Dusty tannins bring things together on the finish, where the berry and chocolate notes echo.
