The Old Faithful celebrates the McLaren Vale and some of its old vine fruit. McLaren Vale, near Adelaide, has some old vine fruit that goes way back, and importer John Larchet teamed up with four growers/wine folk in the Vale to produce this Mourvedre from sixty plus year old vines. It is definitely unusual to have such old vine fruit but also to see a single bottling Mourvedre, which is commonly used in Rhone blends. This vineyard, grown on the site of an old almond grove, is in the Willunga foothills, which is south of the town of McLaren Vale.
