Glass-staining ruby. Ripe, spice-accented cherry, blackberry, incense and a touch of cigar box on the highly perfumed nose. Sweet, expansive red and dark fruit flavors show a hint of candied licorice, and a smoky mineral quality adds energetic lift and focus. Rich yet lively, with no rough edges. The very long, sweet finish is framed by slow-building, silky tannins. -- Josh Raynolds

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2014 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon opens with a spicy, cinnamon stick and incense scented nose over a core of crushed blackberries, blueberries and plums with cigar boxes and bay leaves going on in the background. Medium-bodied with commendable elegance and sophistication, there’s a good mid-palate here of ripe fruit and firm, grainy tannins leading into a long earth and spice laced finish.

Tangy, with plenty of herb and cedar accents to the wild berry and cherry flavors at the core. Features a firm backbone of tannins and an edge of minerality. Drink now through 2026.
