See Tokara wines we sell
Tokara has become one of the must see tasting rooms in the Cape winelands. The farm was purchased in 1994 by GT Ferreira as a country home, but he soon became aware of the enormous potential for wine growing. Situated at the top of the Helshoogte pass, just outside Stellenbosch, Tokara can count such farms as Thelema and Delaire as neighbors. The winery building has been constructed in a modern industrial style and has something for everyone, including a top restaurant, art gallery, deli, some of the best views you could hope for, and of course excellent wines.
Over the last two decades, Tokara has added two farms to itself, one farm in Elgin, the other in the Hemel-en-Aarde valley. The goal being to be able to make a wider variety of wines and styles, thanks to the new terroirs. Today Tokara produces wines that are classically structured and true to the varietal.
Tokara wines are made by Miles Mossop who completed a winemaking degree at Stellenbosch university and has worked at various places locally and abroad to gain experience. Miles has been granted membership in the prestigious Cape Winemakers Guild, which is a real badge of honor.
