Terre Brulee 'Le Blanc' Chenin Blanc 2017

Terre Brulee 'Le Blanc' Chenin Blanc 2017 fom 40 yr old vines out of the Swartland

Tasting Notes

July 2018 - An engaging nose that offers up notes of hay/thatch, then a touch floral, white flowers, leading into yellow apple along with some citric cut aromatically. The palate plays the varietal sweet and sour dance perfectly with a driving undercurrent of acidity to the citrus and apple flavors. Clean, pure and juicy, this has lovely drive and a tangy, mouthwatering finishing that goes on and on. This is showing well now and should continue to drink impressively over the next couple of years.

Food Accompaniments

Asian - Thai, Indian, Chinese, mild curries, pasta in a light white cream sauce

Pretty yellow apple, mirabelle plum and white peach flavors are gilded with honeysuckle and verbena notes. Shows good length on the finish, with a pretty whiff of shortbread. Chenin Blanc. Drink now.

Winemaker Notes

2017 was dry and warm, resulting in healthy, small grapes with good intensity. Greater variation between night and daytime temperatures during the ripening stage fostered favorable development of color and flavors. The wines are of an exceptional quality.
A pleasing Chenin Blanc for any occasion, this luxurious bottling offers notes of honeysuckle and citrus which are balanced by a bright, seamless acidity. A true crowd-pleaser
