The Jonkershoek Valley is clearly a special site for Cabernet Sauvignon, given the consistent
quality of this wine. Mint, cassis and very pure Cabernet flavours, with 8% Petit Verdot
adding colour and tannin. Plush and svelte with a cedarwood backdrop. Drink: 2015-22.
4 ½ Stars 2016 Platter’s South African Wine Guide
Masterly 12 has ripe berry aromas & lingering flavours tempered, restrained & made more complex by superbly handled all-new oak maturation. Properly dry, but grandly reserved rather than austere. Deserves time, as it has a long, fine future. Jonkershoek Valley fruit.

Dark and winey, showing good energy as mouthwatering bramble and savory notes race through the core of dark currant and blackberry pâte de fruit flavors. Reveals a strong graphite edge on the finish, with an echo of singed bay adding range. Still has some unwinding to do. Drink now through 2020. 60 cases imported.

(14.5% alcohol; 100% new oak; includes 5% Petit Verdot): Good full ruby-red. Deep aromas of cassis, boysenberry, huckleberry, licorice, flowers and woodsmoke. Big, rich and deep, with boysenberry and violet flavors dominating. Harmonious acidity gives the middle palate a smooth texture, and the serious, rich tannins arrive late. This vinous, juicy wine is nonetheless still youthfully tight.
