Murdoch James Estate Pinot Noir 2013

Murdoch James Estate Pinot Noir 2013 lovely Kiwi Pinot Noir out of Martinborough

Tasting Notes

This wine illustrates why we are so enamored with well made Pinot Noir. Elegant, almost sexy, with its medium bodied frame and silky texture, this has a beautiful spice and earth nuanced component that adds the right complimentary funkiness to the delicate red and darker red berry fruit flavors. The tannins are finely tuned and in perfect harmony with the fruit. The finish, long and lingering, basically everything you could want for from a Pinot Noir. Just lovely, this should show well over the next 4-5 years.

Food Accompaniments

Awards, Reviews and other Notes

90 pts Wine Advocate Issue #216 (Part 2) Jan 2015
Pale to medium ruby-purple in color, the 2013 Estate Pinot Noir offers an expressive nose of black raspberries, pomegranate and black cherries with nuaces of loam, moss and cumin seeds. Elegantly styled with a medium-body and very fine tannins supporting the red and black berry flavors, it has a long mineral laced finish.
