Delaire Graff is located on the Helshoogte Pass outside Stellenbosch on the way to Franschhoek, across the road from Thelema and Tokara. In other words, they have a pretty special location. The farm was purchased in 1982 by John and Erica Platter (yes that John Platter) and it became known as one of the Cape’s top wine producers. After going through several owners in the nineties it was acquired in 2003 by diamond magnate Laurence Graff and renamed Delaire Graff. The farm is situated at the top of the Helshoogte Pass with sweeping views of the Simonsberg and Stellenbosch.
Laurance Graff founded Graff Diamons in 1960 which marked the beginning of five decades of being a leader in the diamond trade with clients across the world. Laurence is also a devoted philanthropist and art collector, and with the acquisition of Delaire Graff in 2003 he started a new journey in the luxury market with what has become a destination for luxyru travel in the Cape winelands. What was simply a winery and restaurant in 2003 is now an award winning winery, art gallery, three restuarants, luxury accomodations and a day spa. With this new focus, Delaire Graff is focusing on making premium estate grown wines that express their unique terroir at the top of the Hemshoogte Pass.
