90 pts Wine Advocatre Issue #212 April 2014
The 2010 Grand Vin is a blend of their highly selected bunches, and the final cut was 69% Malbec, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot, 4% Merlot and 3% Syrah. The fermentation and maceration in inox lasted 30 to 40 days and after that the wine aged in French oak barrels for 18 months. Not surprisingly it is greatly marked by toasted oak notes and extremely ripe aromas of black fruits, prunes and damsons, black cherries and cassis, verging on overripeness, with some organic notes of forest floor, cigar ash and peat. The palate is full-bodied, with sophisticated tannins, dense, thick and ripe, with masses of volume and glycerin. 47, 000 bottles produced. Drink 2014-2019.
