Cuvelier Del Maule 'Earthquake Harvest' 2010 - last bt

Cuvelier Del Maule 'Earthquake Harvest' 2010 a funky red blend out of Chile's Maule region that has impeccable balance

Tasting Notes

A bizarre blend of Cabernet Sauvignon 42%, Carignan 20%, Carmenere 16%, Pais 10%, Merlot 7% and Zinfandel 5% that seems to work beautifully. This is funky wine in a very good way. The nose has a plethora of aromatics, mint, loam, mocha/coffee, and leather and tobacco leaf flowing into both red and black fruits on the nose. Medium fuller bodied and very balanced, this has a nice suppleness with a spicy edge to the black and red fruit flavors with bright acidity giving freshness and just the right tension by the finer grained tannins on the back end. The finish is quite long combining savory and fruit tones in harmony. This is showing well now with the structure to hold up over the next 3-4 years quite easily.
June 2017 - Retried with consistent notes, except wine is drinking fabulously well now, a testament to its quality. Medium bodied and all about balance and pure fruit flavors of bright red fruits with good vibrancy. Hints of spiciness and earth. Acidity adds freshness which is still very much present in the wine.

Winemaker Notes

Balanced and complex nose of red fruits, strawberry, raspberry and blueberry enriched with touches of anis and white mint. In the mouth, tannins are soft and thin. You will enjoy its balance, complexity, roundness and acidity which bring an amazing length with a final note of spices and coffee.
