Chamonix’s best Pinot Noir vineyards are all located above 490 metres, which partly
explains why they are the best in Franschhoek. Aromatic and hauntingly perfumed, this is a
quintessence of fine Pinot Noir: bright and spicy and very elegant with succulent red berries
and vivid supporting acidity. Drink: 2015-20.
4 ½ Stars 'Highly Recommended' Platters South African Wine Guide 2016
Impressive 14 has cherry, sultry spice & cured meat nuances, fine-grained tannins & an emphatic dry finish. Spontaneous ferment; more new oak (60% new, 14 months) than sibling. Deserves cellaring 5+ years.

Good medium red. Slightly medicinal scents of crushed cherry, raspberry, licorice, spices and menthol, plus a hint of smoked meat. Shows a touch of reduction but also lovely sweetness and pliant texture to its broad, mouthfilling flavors of cherry, red berries, smoke and spices framed by harmonious acidity. A very substantial, youthful, classically dry South African Pinot with fine-grained, firm-edged tannins, a touch of salinity and sneaky lingering perfume. This impressive wine has the energy for mid-term cellaring.
