See Bodega Garzon wines we sell
Alejandro Bulgheroni is a lifelong rancher and Argentine businessman who has spent his working life so far in the agricultural and natural energy sectors. He has worked very hard to build up a portfolio of wineries which includes properties in Napa, Tuscany, Mendoza and also Uruguay. Alejandro was attracted to the Garzon region of Uruguay partly because it reminded him of the rolling hills of Tuscany. He later discovered that, although there were no wineries in that area at that time, the region was well suited to viticulture.
That was in 1999, and Bodega Garzon was his entry into the wine business, with the other properties to follow. Today Bodega Garzon is a pioneering estate, being the first sustainable winery (accredited by the United States Green Building Council and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)) in South America. Located to the North East of Uruguay’s holiday capital, Punta del Este, Garzon is in a unique and priviledged location. The soils have a very strong mineral content and the Atlantic Ocean, 11 miles away, provides cooling breezes to the vines.
Everything is in place for Bodega Garzon to produce wine of high quality that express their region. The vineyards were planned out correctly, the vines are getting old enough, the winery is state of the art and the winemaking team includes Alberto Antonini as the Enologist.
