Garzon Albarino Reserve 2017

Garzon Albarino Reserve 2017 lovely stuff

Tasting Notes

June 2018 - This does a terrific representation of the varietal and actually may be better than many of its contemporaries from the Iberian Peninsula, particularly at this price point. The nose has good intensity with stone fruit/peach and citrus highlights which carry over into the palate. The palate has noted vibrancy and freshness with enough flesh to give a slightly round textural feel and countering acidity that really enlivens the fruit leading to a crisp finish with good length. With its bright fruit and lifted acidity you can enjoy it on its own but this really is made for food, in particular seafood and shell fish, but will pair well with lighter pasta salads and grilled vegetables.

Awards, Reviews and other Notes

91 pts James Suckling April 2018
A lovely tropical nose of pineapple, papaya, lemon curd, white stones and mangoes. Full body, so much fleshy yet tangy stone fruit and a fruity finish. Drink now. Screw cap.

Winemaker Notes

Pale yellow with greenish reflections, this AlbariƱo is intense in the nose, with peach and citrus notes. There's a freshness and minerality mid-palate that is superb, with remarkable acidity and a round, crisp finish.
