See Angulo Innocenti wines we sell
The wines of Angulo Innocenti come from a 284 acre property in La Consulta, in the southern Uco Valley, and this winery has a very rich history. Pedro Angulo and Angel Innocenti were both winegrowers in their native countries. Pedro came from Spain’s Basque country and Angel was from Tuscany. They both made the decision to go to the new world and settled in Mendoza in the late nineteenth century. Through hard work and perseverance they achieved success in their individual endeavors.
Pedro taught his grandson Alejandro Angulo about the vines and winemaking. This instilled in Alejandro a passion for wine since the time of his childhood. Angel’s grandson is Mariano Innocenti, and while Angel never taught Mariano first hand, Mariano heard the stories from his own father. Alejandro is also Mariano’s uncle. Together the uncle and nephew team both had the dream of creating a winery and making wines. It was Alejandro that found the Piedras Blancas property in La Consulta, and in 2004 they planted vineyards.
The Piedras Blancas farm, located in La Consulta, varies from 3,000 to 3,500 feet above sea level and is situated at the foot of the Andes. Mainly Cabernet and Malbec are planted and Mariano takes an active part in the viticulture. Wines are made by Karim Mussi, the winemaker at Altocedro.
