Andes Plateau 'Cota 500' 2016

Andes Plateau 'Cota 500' 2016 a blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Syrah & 3% Carmenere

Tasting Notes

Apr 2019 - The 2016 Andes Plateau Coat 500 is sourced from Pique in the Maipo Valley and is a blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Syrah and 3% Carmenere that were aged in 2nd, 3rd and 4th year old used barrels. The nose has vibrant aromatics, very true to the dominant Cabernet varietals, with a touch of leafiness without any green notes, lightly herbal, along with graphite note to the cassis and black currant fruit. The vibrancy from the aromatics carry over into the palate, giving the cassis and dark currant flavors a juicy quality on its medium fuller palate, while the tannins are well measured and perfectly integrated. This is elegant and nicely balance and the wines vibrancy and natural acidity make it a great food wine. Drinking well as we speak this should hold up nicely over the next 3-4 years.
