Alchemy Grand Cuvee 2014 91 pts James Suckling |
Tasting
Notes |
Oct 2018 - Only 250 cases of the 2014 Alchemy Grand Cuvee were produced for
the vintage. A blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Carmenere,
10% Syrah and 5% Malbec, respectively, the nose conveys notions
of mint along with spice and loam to the sweet dark red fruit notes
aromatically. Medium fuller to fuller bodied this has good fruit
density and concentration giving this a mouthful of supple, juicy
darker red berry fruit flavors that have a spice component that adds
another layer of interest. The tannins are firm enough for good
structural support leading to a dry finish that has good persistence
and length. Just now opening up this has several more years of great
drinking in front of it. |

91 pts James Suckling May 2017
A big and juicy wine with lots of ripe fruit that shows dried strawberry and blueberry character. Flowers too. Full body, round and velvety. A blend of mostly cabernet sauvignon, carmenere, syrah and malbec. Drink now. |
