Achaval-Ferrer

Achaval-Ferrer 'Los Andes' Malbec 2016

Achaval-Ferrer 'Los Andes' Malbec 2016 91 pts James Suckling

Tasting Notes

Jan 2019 - The 2016 Achaval-Ferrer ‘Los Andes’ Malbec has good vibrancy and lift combining a floral note of violets, with some spice and red and black fruits on the nose. Medium fuller to fuller bodied this has good concentration to the floral infused fruit flavors of raspberry and blackberry, while an undercurrent of acidity leads this to a juicy finish, with nicely integrated tannins giving structural support. Drinking well as we speak, enjoy this over the next couple of years.

Awards, Reviews and other Notes

91 pts James Suckling April 2018
Fresh blueberries, peppermint, light violets and a hint of orange rind and nutmeg. Full body, succulent tannins, plenty of crisp acidity and a juicy finish. A more floral rendition of this wine. Drink now.

Winemaker Notes

Bright ruby red in color, this wine is fresh and floral, featuring blackberry, raspberry and violets on the nose and palate. The wine is dense and thick with a noticeable minerality, silky tannins mark a lengthy finish.
