Waterford Chardonnay 2009 nice restrained style with grilled nuts and soft spice mixed with pear and light peach fruit
Tasting
Notes
2/1/12
The house style of Chardonnay from Waterford is more about restraint than opulence and heft. Think of grilled nuts, a touch of citrus and pear fruit, framed with a light toast component aromatically. The palate is slightly creamy, medium to medium fuller bodied, with citrus and dry peach fruit flavors kissed with a soft spice component and the subtle oak interplay in harmony with the fruit. Good acidity along with the wine’s fruit definition says this should drink nicely over the next 2-3 years. This should work really well with lighter foods.
