Tasting
Notes |
|
Mild, perfumed, rounded and warm. There is a depth to it, with gentle, abundant tannins. It takes two hours to elicit its smoky and mineral aroma with cocoa, mulberry, spice and vanilla notes. The ripeness of the grape has left its heritage of complexity. |
Food
Accompaniments |

Its delicate nature makes this wine ideal for being served with lean fish, duck, grilled pork and pasta. |

90 pts Wine Enthusiast Magazine A touch leathery and cooked at first, but with time the bouquet deftly blends saucy, savory Syrah aromas with sun-baked black fruit notes. The palate is saturated and chunky with aggressive sweet and sauvage flavors of grilled meats, spice and burnt brown sugar. Roasted, warm and mildly better on the finish.
88 pts Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar (JR) Bright red-ruby. Crushed blackberry, cranberry, smoked meat, licorice and pepper on the slightly reduced nose. Firmly built but a tad dry-edged, in need of more sweetness of fruit and juiciness. Finishes with dusty tannins. |
