Here’s a McClaren Vale Cabernet that will really catch your attention. We aren’t the biggest proponents of Mclaren Vale for growing Cabernet Sauvignon, but there are exceptions, and when they arise they can make a big statement. This is the case with the 2009 ‘Sexy Beast’ as this shows lovely balance and beautiful fruit definition. Darker fruits abound, punctuated with a savory cast to the fruit that is in perfect harmony. Mid palate suppleness gives way to an intense, long, lingering finish on this medium fuller bodied wine. This is quite delicious and young and evolving with a good 5 plus years of great drinking a head of it. Impressive.

Very deep purple-black in color, the 2010 Sexy Beast Cabernet Sauvignon is profoundly scented of creme de cassis, cloves and cedar with underlying nuances of baker's chocolate, mint and pencil lead. Very full bodied and packed with taut, dense cassis flavor, it has a solid foundation of firm grainy tannins and crisp acid, finishing long and clean. Still very young and tight, consider drinking it 2013 to 2019+.
