A bold, rich style, with ample mocha, blackberry, Kenya AA coffee and dark tobacco notes, all woven together with velvety tannins. The long finish is very polished. A good one for the hedonist crowd. 88 pts Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Mar/Apr 2011
Deep red. Slightly high-toned aromas of dark berries, fruitcake and spicy oak. Rich and spicy but a bit herbal and dry, with a strong oakiness currently overshadowing the wine's blackberry and blueberry flavors. A bit warm at 14.5% alcohol, but I don't find the fruit ripeness suggested by that figure. Oak-driven tannins are a tad dry.
