We love Aussie Riesling and this Eden Valley offering is one of those exceptional bang for the buck offerings. It’s classically dry with a nice detailed, lingering finish and good concentration and zip to the citrusy, lime fruit in a medium weight package. There’s an engaging floral, spicy top note and just a touch of sweetness to balance the racy acidity with ample mid palate fruit weight. This will drink beautifully over the next 2-3 years. The quality and pricing make it a terrific value anyway you look at it.

Rolf Binder’s 2010 Highness Riesling gives an intense nose of lime juice, honeysuckle, white pepper and coriander seed. Dry, light to medium-bodied and with good concentration of citrusy fruit, crisp acid and just a hint of sweetness, it has a long zesty finish. Drink it now to 2015.
