"Really intense rich Rutherglen Muscat nose. ...Lovely raisins characters. Rancio. Amazing complexity and depth. The palate shows incredible concentration. It's intensely sweet and complex. Extraordinarily luscious and a really outstanding example of Rutherglen Muscat."

95 pts Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar - Sept 2011 Deep amber. Powerfully scented bouquet displays raspberry preserves, cola, molasses, orange marmalade and brown sugar. Lush and deeply pitched in the mouth, offering concentrated pit fruit, toffee, candied fig and orange marmalade flavors and a deeper note of espresso. Clings impressively on the very long finish, which leaves notes of roasted coffee and candied red fruit behind.
100pts, Robert Parker, Jr., The Wine Advocate, #148 The Calliope Rare Muscat boasts a deep, dark amber color as well as layers of flavor and constantly changing aromatics of brown sugar, fig, molasses, and Lord knows what else. It is an extraordinary beverage.
