Awards, Reviews and other Notes

89 pts Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Sept/Oct 2011 >br> Green-tinged gold. Inviting aromas and flavors of white peach, tarragon, citrus peel, exotic spices and butterscotch. Fleshy, broad and ripe but surprisingly lithe, with a distinctly spicy character. Finishes dry and persistent, with a repeating smoky note.
85 pts Wine Advocate Issue #194 May 2011
Fermented in French oak, 20% new, and aged in oak for 11 months, the 2009 Vision Chardonnay has a moderate intensity of ripe apple, poached pear and dried apricot aromas with a touch of toasted almonds. Medium-bodied with a decent amount of straightforward stone fruit flavor, it has a high level of balanced acidity and a medium-long finish. Drink it now through 2013.

Winemaker Notes

Pale straw with youthful green hues. Lively aromas of citrus and melon with cinnamon, nutmeg and vanillin spice nuances. On the palate, complex flavors of citrus and pineapple, layered with cashew and allspice nuances.
The fruit was then crushed, de - stemmed and bag pressed before undergoing slow, cool fermentation in a combination of stainless steel tanks and one and two year old French oak. After fermentation, a portion of the wine remained in oak for a further 11 months maturation, undergoing fortnightly batonage to add complexity and enhance fruit and oak integration, prior to final blending and bottling
