Reviews and other Notes
88 pts Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, May/June 2011 includes 10% cabernet sauvignon) Deep red. Fresh red berries and spices on the fragrant nose. Racy and precise, with spice-accented redcurrant and bitter cherry flavors gaining sweetness with air. Nicely fresh wine with good nervy bite and an echo of dried red fruits on the finish. 90 pts Wine Advocate Issue #199 Feb 2012
Meli’s 2008 Carignan includes 10% Cabernet Sauvignon in its makeup. It was native yeast fermented with 30% of the wine aged in oak. Notions of underbrush, brier, wild berries, and exotic spices inform the nose of a racy, bright, intense, full-flavored wine. Impeccably balanced and lengthy, it is an outstanding value meant for drinking over the next 5-6 years. Master sommeliers take note!
