90 pts Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Jul/Aug 2010
Deep red. Redcurrant and dried cherry on the nose, with subtle floral and herbal notes adding complexity. Dry and linear, with light-bodied red berry and floral pastille flavors supported by fine-grained tannins. The redcurrant note repeats on the alluringly sweet finish, which lingers with gentle spiciness. This is drinking very well now.
90 pts Wine Advocate Issue #192 Dec 2010
The 2008 Fifth Wave Grenache displays a medium garnet color and pronounced scents of warm raspberry and spice box on the nose with some chocolate and whiffs of pepper and tree bark. Full-bodied with a medium level of silky tannins, this is a concentrated, spicy wine in the mouth, going long in the finish. Drinking now, it should cellar through 2016.
