The Lammershoek Roulette Blanc is blend of older bush-vine Chenin Blanc dominating, with over 60% of the blend, underscored with old bush-vine Chardonnay and younger, non bush-vine Viognier. This displays a light golden color visually. The nose has some oxidative characters along with straw, honeysuckle, stone fruit, fig and ripe melon fruit aromatically. The palate showcases rich fruit and a medium fuller to fuller bodied frame with a slightly creamy texture to the honey tinged peach, melon and broader tropical fruit flavors leading to a slightly off dry, lingering finish. Showcasing ripe fruit flavors, this really grows on you as you let it open up as its intensity and powerfully flavored palate takes hold. Possessing palate weight that mimics a red wine, especially when not too cold, this is drinking beautifully right now and should be consumed over the next 12-18 months.
