Notes
1/10
Dean Hewitson is a master of taking old vine fruit and making magical wines. Even with size and scale the wines retain freshness to the fruit and impeccable balance and structure. Full of flavor and character the wines show exceptional concentration but aren’t over the top, the balance and freshness to the fruit always at the fore. The 2007 Ned and Henry is another beauty, fuller bodied, with lovely blackberry fruit accentuated with some notes of licorice, leather and a touch of mocha. Just now starting to open up this should show exceptionally well over the next 5-6 years with ease.

Glass-staining ruby. Ripe black raspberry and blueberry aromas are complicated by notes of fruitcake and licorice. Racy, tightly wound red and dark berry flavors show good energy for a Barossa Valley wine, with a firm core of minerality lending spine and focus. Finishes with good sappy persistence and riper plum and cherry notes.
