A ripe style, showing spice and blueberry compote notes up front, backed by braised fig, bittersweet cocoa and currant paste notes. Plenty of toast throughout, with a frankly smoky edge on the finish. Ambitious, but will have fans. Syrah. Drink now through 2011. 400 cases made.
