92 pts Wine Advocate Issue #180 Dec 2008
The 2006 Grand Vin is a blend of 85% Malbec, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Merlot aged for 16 months in new French oak. The nose exhibits pain grille, scorched earth, spice box, plum, and black cherry. This leads to an elegantly-styled wine with excellent depth, concentration, and intensity. It has several years of aging potential and should be at its best from 2012 to 2026.
