The nose reminds of dark currant and darker plum fruits with a background of toast and slight mocha/spice. Medium fuller bodied this has a sweet entry with a nice wave of darker fruit that tapers down with some grip and dryness on the finish. Although it offers some juiciness in the mid palate with a sweet fruit base, this has a dry cast on the finish and powdery tannins that gives this a more serious and slightly firmer profile than many Malbecs in this price range. We worked this over three days and were very impressed as it didn’t fall apart or lose any shape or fruit definition. This screams out for grilled meats, which is what Malbec is all about. Just starting to open up this should drink nicely over the next couple of years.

Dark red. Laid-back, slightly rustic aromas of currant, chocolate, mocha and leather. Supple and suave but not overly concentrated, with good inner-mouth energy to the flavors of blackberry, chocolate and mint. A rather dry, classic malbec with a savory finish displaying fine tannins and a lingering chocolate note.
