90 pts Wine Advocate Issue #192 Dec 2010
The 2006 Salix Vineyard is an intriguing blend of 65% Tannat and 35% Malbec that spent 20 months in new French oak. A glass-coating opaque purple color, it offers up a fragrant nose of sandalwood, violets, espresso, incense, blackberry, and black plum. On the palate it is full-bodied with good richness and density, although it remains light on its feet. It has enough structure to evolve for 2-3 years and will deliver peak drinking from 2012 to 2021.
