When we tried this several months back at a trade tasting we thought that this was one of the top wines of the whole event, price was no issue. The wine has now arrived here on our shores and a second tasting has confirmed that this really is quite remarkable, putting it into that over delivering category. Beautiful clarity to the darker red fruit base of cassis and currant, finer grained tannins holding it all together with great palate presence and length gives this has that extra dimension that really makes it stand out. The fruit has exceptional purity and drive without beefiness, showcasing pedigree and refinement at a price point that few can match. If you think that Argentine Malbec is the only game in town this will definitely make you think twice about that. |

90 pts Wine Advocate Issue #180 December 2008
The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Remolinos Vineyard is deep crimson-colored with an alluring bouquet of cedar, cinnamon, allspice, cassis, and black currant. Supple and elegant on the palate, it has excellent depth, grip, and a lingering finish. It too will provide pleasure over the next six years. 90 pts Wine Spectator
Quite ripe, with a beam of raspberry and boysenberry fruit, but it stays focused, with alluring spice, currant, toast and black tea notes stretching out the juicy finish. Drink now through 2010. |
