Produced only in the finest years, the 2006 Omihi Selection Pinot Noir has an introverted, earthy nose that reveals more red cherry, gamey qualities with each pour. The palate is medium-bodied, very well-balanced and refined with an engaging sense of natural being. Touches of boysenberry, cedar and cloves towards the finish, I still felt it just took its foot off the pedal right at the end where I had expected more tautness and focus. Still, a very fine Pinot Noir.
