Ruby-colored, with a rich fruitiness and nutty character. The toughest part of making good Ruby Port is to make sure that the heat of the alcohol does not overshadow the wine. This one does just that. The secret is 3-4 years in barrel instead of 2-3. That gives the alcohol time to infuse itself in the wine. Not too sweet either at 95.5 g/l.
Made of traditional port varietals : Tinta Barocca, Souzao, Touriga Nacional and aged in Portuguese Oak barrels. Excellent value for money from this award -winning producer! South Africa's best-selling NV Ruby.
