A blend of Syrah (55%), Grenache Noir (20%), Cabernet Sauvignon (16%), Cinsault (5%) and Viognier, respectively.
This has a distinctive spicy lift to its core of red fruits aromatically. Think of white pepper, a hint of gaminess and raspberry, red currant and dark cherry juice as well as a lifting white stone fruit component on the nose. Medium fuller bodied, this is not a heavy wine in the palate, yet it is richly flavored as well as showing good fruit concentration and exceptional fruit intensity. Seamless with finely tuned tannins this offers up a beautiful sleek, suave texture packed with a core of assorted red fruit compote flavors. Lingering and persistent this is quite polished showcasing excellent balance and delicious fruit with refined tannins. Drinking beautifully out of the gate this should drink impressively over the next 3-4 years. |

A ripe, polished, slightly sweet style, displaying jammy plum and raspberry fruit layered with mocha toast. Syrah, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault and Viognier. Drink now.

a blend based on 55% syrah and 20% grenache) Dark red. Blackberry, licorice, leather and wild herbs on the nose. A sweet, savory fruit bomb in the mouth, with sexy flavors of currant, plum, dried herbs and mint. Finishes a tad warm, but smooth and easy to drink. |

2007 Boekenhoutskloof The Chocolate Block
The 2007 Chocolate Block is a blend of Syrah (55%); Grenache noir (20%); Cabernet Sauvignon (16%); Cinsault (5%) and Viognier (4%).
"2007 was a bumper vintage for us. We believe this to be the best Chocolate Block to date. Fresh berry flavours and a fine white pepperiness add a spicy profile to the nose. This is a wine of elegance and linearity. The palate seems almost seamless with the soft approachable tannins rounding off the mouthfeel. Maximum ageing potential of 8 years." |
