Bodega Monteviejo

Bodega Monteviejo 'Monteviejo' 2006

bodega Monteviejo 'Monteviejo' 2006 a red blend that's dense & layered with good complexity - out of the Uco Valley

Awards, Reviews and other Notes

91 pts Wine Advocate Issue #180 Dec 2010
The opaque purple-colored 2006 Monteviejo is composed of 60% Malbec, 20% Syrah, 10% Merlot, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 16 months in new French oak. It exhibits an expressive perfume of pain grille, pencil lead, lavender, black cherry, blueberry, and licorice. On the palate it is full-bodied, dense, and layered. It has that extra dimension of complexity that is the result of an exceptional vintage as well as enough ripe tannin to develop for another 3-4 years. It should provide immense pleasure between 2012 and 2026.
