Robert Parker, Jr., The Wine Advocate, Issue #148 / 88-90pt Red Blend from Langhorne Creek, Australia

Tasting Notes

Winemaker's Tasting Notes: This wine exhibits regional mint and blackberry flavours along with spicy overtones. Maturation in both French and American oak has given the wine a fresh toastiness and added complexity which will assist the wines development over 4 to 6 years.

Awards, Reviews and other Notes

88-90pts, Robert Parker, Jr.'s The Wine Advocate, #148 Readers looking for more mint/eucalyptus characteristics should check out the 2002 Shiraz/Cabernet, a heady concoction revealing copious quantities of black currant fruits along with the tell-tale mint. This impressively endowed, nicely textured, dense concentrated offering reveals the strength of this vintage in South Australia. Potentially bigger and richer than its 2001 counterpart, it will drink well for 4-7 years.
87 pts Wine Spectator 9/30/05 Smooth and plushly textured on a modest scale, with plummy flavors at the core, shaded nicely with nutmeg and meat notes on the finish. Drink now through 2009. 10,000 cases made.
