Bleasdale

Bleasdale Cabernet Sauvignon 2004

Bleasdale Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 - 91 pts - Robert Parker, Jr. Wine Advocate #168

Tasting Notes

5/31/07
Bleasdale has a long history in Australian wine folklore but it’s only been over the last 6-8 years where it has started to make in roads into the US market. The progression has been steady and rightly so, as this winery makes wines that are not only of exceptional quality, their pricing makes them highly desirable for everyday enjoyment as well. The 2004 Bleasdale Cabernet has finally arrived with much awaited anticipation. Loaded with gobs of sweet black currant fruit this has tremendous depth and length at a terrific price. It always goes back to the concept that Cab is King and when you get this quality at this price point you jump all over it, no questions asked.

Food Accompaniments

Medium-rare rack of lamb with mint sauce.

Awards, Reviews and other Notes

91 pts - Robert Parker, Jr. Wine Advocate #168
“The outrageously good 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Mulberry Tree is a terrific bargain. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged 12 months in a combination of French and American wood, is the kind of wine that makes consumers realize there is a lot of over-priced Cabernet in the marketplace. It boasts of a deep ruby/purple color, an excellent texture, and notes of underbrush, black currants, tar, sweet cassis, and cedar. Full-bodied with light to moderate tannin, it can be drunk now or cellared for a decade.”

88 pts Wine Spectator issue 8/31/07
Smooth and ripe, with generous blackberry and currant fruit shaded with refined tannins, lingering nicely.

Winemaker Notes

Machine picked fruit, 6 day ferment on skins, pumped over twice daily for 30 minutes. Malolactic fermentation undertaken. Blended and oak matured for 12 months. Bottled.
