88 pts Robert Parker Jr.'s The Wine Advocate (JM) The 2007 The Broad-Side Shiraz (60%)-Cabernet Sauvignon (40%) is a deep crimson color with a slightly muted bouquet of cedar, tobacco, spice box, black currant, and blueberry. Broad and expansive in the mouth, it has very good concentration, ripe tannins, and ample spicy fruit. It, too, will drink well over the next 4 years and is an excellent value.
88 pts Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar (JR) Dark purple. Smoky dark berry and cherry aromas are complicated by notes of black pepper and olive. Showing its shiraz component today, offering pliant blackberry and boysenberry flavors and a bitter note of cherry skin. The finish is smooth, spicy and nicely persistent. This will work well with spicy grilled meats.
