a 60/40 combination of bonarda and malbec) Bright, deep ruby-red. New-oaky aromas of sappy cherry and spice. Broad and youthful, if a bit closed today in the middle palate. Dense but not at all heavy. The redcurrant and dried cherry flavors are a bit unyielding in a bonarda way, but this firmly tannic wine finishes with very good aromatic persistence. Only a slightly rustic dusty/herbal quality gives away the bonarda component.
Winemaker Notes
This is a blend of 60% Bonarda and 40% Malbec. The wines shows notes of dried cherry and spice. On the palate, dark fruit is tightly wound around a core of ripe and dense tannin. This wine is full bodied as it exhibits great length that gives way to a finish that shows off coffee, cinnamon and ripe black cherries.
